I also tried the cornmeal with my black Mittens and her 9-week-old
daughter Missy. Mittens just ate it, but Missy had a lovey roll
around in it. I did notice a difference, though, between cornmeal and
chin dust--cornmeal sticks. Missy is just a shade or two lighter
than Mittens, so I'm not sure if she's a true slate, but after her
cornmeal bath, she certainly would pass for slate in anyone's books!
