The top has screen on it. It doesn't seem very strong and I know how
Duncan chews. Would it be a bad idea to use this top for Duncan? I
wouldnt' want her to escape. I'm not sure that she would ever get up
that high to chew on it, but I don't know if it would be good to take
the chance.

*This is not good. They can get through it.

If this is a bad choice for a top, what are my alternatives and where
could I get a better top?

*Some pet stores sell a metal mesh (not screen) cage top that would
fit a 20-long. Else you have to make your own. I do, out of expanded
metal mesh [kickplates/protection for screen doors...sold at home
centers] I cut it to just barely fit inside the inside lip at the top of
the
aquarium, snug enough you sort of have to push it in, and put a weight
on the cage top or tape the corners and each long side (one piece)
with duct tape. I have yet to have one chew through (a few sneaks
have managed to push their way out, but I have since perfected my
duct taping.)
