cage today and there I found two more with the same problem. Excapt , it is
ten times worse. they are not moving and their breathing is very very slow.
I put them in the separate cage with a heating pad under the cage because
they are not producing heat for themselves and they're cold to the touch.
I'm really scared, I had found them with their ears and toes nibbled on. the
fourth gerbil is perfectly fine and still in the cage. They were perfectly
fine yesterday! I have put rubbing alcohol on the nips of the two sick gerbs
to prevent infection but now I'm at a loss for what to do. They will not eat
anything I give them(actually they try and then just lay there, legs
splayed, with it in their mouth. The large cage had contained, stuffing,
toilet paper rolls, lettuce, gerbil food, carrots, mint plant, water, and a
wooden block or two. Does anyone have any suggestions?I really don't wan to
loose these two, I have had them since they were born from my Bradine.

One, you have what sounds like dehydration, which is the thing that
will kill them first. Two, it sounds like you have an infection
(respiratory)
that is going through your animals.

Get ALL of your animals to a vet immediately. The two that are
unresponsive need rehydration therapy, warming, and antibiotics...
and the others need to be treated as well, as the one that recovered
might relapse and the one that is currently well might go down.

Search the gerbil list FAQ as several of us have discussed
rehydration therapy (fluid and an eyedropper) and 'warm corners'
as well as giving animals fluid with an eyedropper and administering
antibiotics.

But. Get them help asap.
