HI
Do you have other tanks of gerbils? if so you should isolate the
infected tank immediately as mites multiply very quickly!!.Also i would not
rely on pyrethrum or permethrin to eradicate the mites as some mites eg.
spider mite, is resistant to these chemicals. Take them to your vets ,have
the mites identified , they will then give your gerbils the correct dosage of
medicine probably ivermectin, or something similar,based on their bodyweight.
This is probably your best option,and probably the cheapest too,especially if
you are unsure of dosage,and effectiveness of the spray.
