That sure makes a lot more since then saying it was
because they bred them with other animals. I also
belive that many of the colors we have today are due
to mutations in the genes of pet breeders. Such as the
cb,ch or the ef mutation. Once they were discovered
and brought out they became more common and we
discovered what we could do with them. This also
explains the blue (dd) mutation going on in england
right now. They have discovered the new loci they just
have to work on the health problem that come with the
new and exciting colors.

It is however interesting to think if what might hapen
if you were to breed a mouse and a gerbil. if it is
possable. Maybe ill get a few pinky mice and try that
out. :)
