Sort of like "spoiling them".  :o)  A spoiled gerbil can be just as bad as
any other spoiled pet, except maybe for the fact that they won't get in your
way as much, begging to be pampered.  :o)

 I take it as a sign that they want to come out (an
 extended version of standing up tall like most do). If
 you take them out when they do that, I find they do it
 more.  I only have seen one or two do this.
