Hello list :o)
Well, I've now a tested my own ability to "introduce" one 8 week female pup
to 3 other 7 week old pups by the split cage method for my first time was a
"failed" learning experience so far :o(

I had taken three males from Pandora's litter to our pet store, whom we
trust to sell them in pairs only to good homes, leaving the lone female by
herself. I felt sorry for her because she looked lonesome being by herself
for the first time ever so I tried the split cage introduction to the three
females of Thumpers litter.

Well I guess I was over anxious to get them together and removed two of the
three females to see if one would accept the lone female? No was the answer
and right away the chase was on !!!! so I grabbed her real fast so no one
would be hurt. As I was air lifting her to safety she slipped out of my hand
and landed on the side of the split tank I had placed the other two of the
three females temporarily. It happened that they are all Agouti and I
couldn't tell them apart from one another and the dreaded "three way chase
was on" :o(

Shelley was against what I had tried to do after only one day of the split
cage but was close by watching, luckily, she reached in and grabbed one
..... not the right one though, I reached in and grabbed the other ending
the chase but now, who was who???
Shelley managed to figure that out with no more harm coming to them :o)
Thanks Shelley !!!

Question .... how long should I do the split cage introduction with one 7
week old female to three 8 week old females? and will that even be
successful??? I don't want to see this happen again and be responsible for
one possibly be hurt bad :o( Sorry this is so long but I needed to tell
the story so no one else make the error I did and hopefully learn from it
........ thanks in advance .......
