Actually, I just figured it out last night. My gerbils sit in the
same room as my computer. The system sound settings I have make a
VERY similar "gerbil warning thump" kind of sound - though I never
realized it before.
I was playing around with Adobe Photoshop last night, and was
scrolling through the different options. Then I heard the pups start
to thump. When I stopped, they would gradually stop as well. :) It's
kinda cute really. Mom and dad seem to know better, but I guess since
the pups are young and perhaps more sensitive to sound than their
parents, they respond to the noise on the computer. *L*
