It has been three days since I lost my gerbil, Icky Rat. I miss her deeply. She was the last of the two original gerbils I got nearly three years ago. I now have more time to spend with my other two younger gerbils I have. The most fascinating moment I had with Icky Rat I want to tell you about. Icky Rat loved peanuts, and she would even fight with me to get it if I would not give it to her. This one day I had Icky Rat on my mom's lap, and I wanted to give her her daily nut. When I got the food dish out, my mother noticed that she was not exploring her lap and the chair, and she was just standing their staring at me. When I first got my gerbils, I never thought that they would be such a companion, and a friend. I feel like I have lost a good friend three days ago. We buried her next to her sister, who died a while ago. I sure wish gerbils went to heaven!
