Perhaps it is a Spotted Schimmel? I was looking on the Gerbil Color Pallet, and I was reading about the DTW and the Schimmel, and how the spotted Schimmel will fade almost completely after awhile, and the "spots" will no longer be obvious. Perhaps this is the case?
