I wouldn't. They are likely to get toot hot. I have used pads sold for reptiles on sick gerbils with a lot of success, but you must make sure the gerbil can move and that the pad is only heating part of the tank so the gerbil can move to an area where it is comfortable. Otherwise you risk cooking your gerbil. Pups would get to hot and because they do not regulate their own temperature, would not know this.
