Vet prices are nuts period.  But aside from that we would say that $44 is not bad if the vet KNOWS small animals.  We would pay that much if we could find a small animal vet who had a clue.  We do have a lead on a small animal vet in our area (ohio).  Hopefully if we need another vet visit this person will work out.  Good luck to all of you out there looking for good small animal vets!

My vet that I was taking my gerbils to was a ripoff too, at 35 per visit.  And he didn't even know a lot about the little guys!  You have to be a very careful shopper when choosing a gerbil vet.  We still haven't found one in Madison or Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and believe me, we have searched!!
