Hi again,

I've discovered the reason Poke-poke's not his usual self... his two upper front
teeth are gone. Poor boy! I feel quite badly, no wonder he's hiding and sleeping
so much. And it's all my fault, I dropped him.

Sigh. But at least I know he has no internal injuries and he's not about to die. I
found this out the night I sent my first email to the GML. My mom commented that
Little Guy gobbled up five treat seeds when she offered, but Poke-poke was just
"playing" with it. I got suspicious when I recalled that he'd gobbled up some
yogurt before but didn't touch toilet rolls or hard food. So I offered a cornflake
and again, he chewed furiously at it but didn't actually eat it. It took a fair bit
of gentle handling to get a good look at his mouth. Poor Poke-poke, teeth all gone!

At least gerbil teeth grow back. And now he's getting extra pampered with yummy
soft food.
