My Trixie was closer to giving birth than I thought - we now have three new little squeakers! One dark-eyed and two red-eyed. I notice there are some different behaviors with this particular pair. For one, they don't mate the day of birth. Trixie refuses! They do the day after, though. And when I got up this morning (she gave birth late last night) I saw Sheridan was already in the nest with Trixie and the pups. I thought this rather interesting as fathers usually stay away the first day.
