Thank you for your very quick responce! But We now have her in custody (minus part of her tail due to me being forced to attempt a grab in a situation of "grab her or she is going inside the mechanical parts of the fridge") My living room is ripped to shreds though........Well at least this is a memorable new years eve lol (she was caught 30 minutes to midnight)............luckly she didnt give birth during her great escape (she is due any day now)
Thank you again though,
Heather

They can hide everywhere and get through a crack less than an inch, I swear!  (well, maybe more than that, but not much).  I caught a particularly tricky one once using the gerbil's natural curiosity and hunger.  Igot a deep bucket (like a 5-gallon pail) and put some litter in the bottom for padding.  then I scattered sunflower seeds on the litter.  Next I took the hose to the vacuum cleaner and attached it just over the edge of the bucket with duct tape.  then I stretched the hose out on the floor and put a few seeds around it and inside it.  then I shut the door and went to bed.  the next morning the sweetie was in the bucket!  Of course, this assumes that the gerbil is still in the apartment.  But it is worth a try.

Subject: Question........and its important

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick question.....how much of a space does a gerbil need to be able to get under something? We just got home from the movie theater about an hour ago and my boyfriend sat at his computer and then I heard him say "Oh hi"! I asked who he said hi too and he replied "Oh! Hoppy"! It seems she stuck her head out from under the couch! (and he went back to his game after that). She just had to be seperated from her cage mate 2 days ago so I cant use him as bait to get him out, I have moved everything in my living room, shut the doors to all other rooms. I cant really just "wait it out" because we live in an appartment where the heaters arent gerbil proof (as we learned last nite when she escaped). Any ideas?
Heather
