I'm a little concerned over using something thats not ready yet on such an important & large project. I'd rather it be tested on a smaller, quieter project first :)

I agree, but even though I haven't used svn enough to say one way or another if it's ready for production use (I've given it a couple of test drives for personal projects), Brian McCallister's comments seem to indicate it's not.
