Patch Set 1: Code-Review+1

I'm always on the conservative side here. For me, the absolute minimum
requirement is to build on debian stable, which ships gcc-4.9.2. Oldstable
would be a plus, which would be gcc-4.7.2.

According to http://en.cppreference.com/w/cpp/compiler_support most C++11
features are in gcc since 4.8, so it seems we'd still be building on stable
(must) but possibly no longer on oldstable (which is tolerable)
