The simplest way to take up get_iplayer on the Mac is to download Get
iPlayer Automator:

It's GUI-only, so it's more limited than using the command line
directly, but it works quite well and the installation couldn't be
easier - just drag and drop. If that doesn't meet your needs, reply to
this thread and I'll run down the process of installing from scratch on
the Mac.
