This is a bug in the web pvr on Windows. It will be present for all
browsers, all Perls. Already reported and confirmed here:

I have a patch for this bug, but the patch presents another problem.
I'll commit the patch once I have a chance to sort that out.

I guess in the mean-time, you can use the Web PVR Manager to define your
searches and download requirement and execute the
'run_pvr_scheduler.bat' file from 'C:\Program Files (x86)\get_iplayer'
to check every few hours. This seems to work fine.

I've posted the patch in a separate thread. AFAICT, auto-refresh never worked on Windows. It appears that it was never even intended to work. It obviously isn't a very popular feature (no surprise) since there haven't been earlier reports about it. But 2 reports in 2 months is a veritable avalanche here. I guess there was no point in leaving it broken unnecessarily, even if the patch is a windows-specific bodge.

Andy: I've no reason to think the patch will fix your problem since you were seeing completely blank pages rather than pages that wouldn't refresh. But the patch replaces that particular bit of code foe Windows, so it might be worth giving it a spin.
