Hi Charles
I've now a response to my query to the BBC:
"Hello David,
Thanks so much for getting in touch.
We are sorry to hear that you could not get watching Ray Mears's
Bushcraft – Series 1 Episode 4 as it was not available on BBC iPlayer
for you.
The reason that the programme is not available is because we did not
have the rights to make this episode available online for on demand
access, unlike the rest of the series.
How strange not to have the rights for just one episode, and, as #5 is
downloading as I speak, it doesn't explain why after a week the
website still doesn't show the other four episodes as being available,
which they are:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p009qxkj/episodes/guide
I guess we're never going to get a better answer, but it reeks of
cock-up to me.
I don't know who David is but anyway, we now have our answer!
We have AN answer indeed, however unconvincing! Anyway, thanks again
for your efforts, Alan.
That's OK. Mind you, it's not the first time that one episode from a
series has been unavailable for that reason. It points to a segment of
the episode where they couldn't secure agreement. Next time it's on, I
hope I manage to record the episode in question.
Regards
Alan
