I have all of that already, also I have EditFieldX.setfoucs but what happens is
that the scrollBar does not show its index, and I have to click on it for the
slider to be seen. When the slider shows up it is at the bottom then I still
have to slide it up to the top.
The cursor is seen at position 0.
EditFieldX is not readonly.
Any other suggestions

At the end of your File-Open event put:
Editfield.SelStart=0
Editfield .SelLength=0
