Mark, you appear to be correct.  I looked into this and I was able to do
some simple conversions using generic XML files.  The problem is that I'm
working with an XML Excel spreadsheet.  You would think there would be a
standard stylesheet for this conversion, but I cannot find one.

Any ideas?

not sure about rb 5.5.5, but aren't xml documents generally transformed in  
to html, by using an xslt stylesheet, you might want to look in that.  
RB2006 seems to have a transform method for xml.
