Again, your code works on my Windows machine. What I don't understand is why you are getting different results with your code than I do.
I made a new project and placed a PushButton and an EditField on the window. In the Action event of the PushButton I placed your code. It worked fine... Are you sure you don't have something unusual going on with you machine? I've tried your code in RB5.5.5 and RB2006r2 on WinXP sp2.
