Hi,

It works as Robert Poland described, for me on winxp rb2k6r2, but i would have expected it to fail on mac as well.

The rb docs don't actually say you can pass "Saturday, August 19, 2006" to parsedate, only day month year (August 19, 2006) i didn't think you could pass it "Saturday" despite that being part of a valid long date property of the date object (it is read only). You can see that for the date object (that you are attempting to create) that the only settable properties are day, month, year and time (which are all ints and parsedate doesnt worry about time).

The so unless the parsedate method has some magic, i cant see that it would work including "saturday". So passing only "August 19, 2006" is fine.

Again, your code works on my Windows machine.

What I don't understand is why you are getting different results with your
code than I do.

I made a new project and placed a PushButton and an EditField on the window.

In the Action event of the PushButton I placed your code.

It worked fine...

Are you sure you don't have something unusual going on with you machine?
I've tried your code in RB5.5.5 and RB2006r2 on WinXP sp2.

If you continue to have these problems, feel free to e-mail your project to
me offlist.
