Hi Derek.

Mac OS X does not seem to have an equivalent to the horrible (but 
free) MSPaint that comes with the operating system.

MSPaint is perhaps convenient if you have no alternative, but 
relatively inexpensive image editing programs like Adobe's Photoshop 
Elements or Corel's Paint Shop enjoy a good reception on both PCs and 
Macs.

In fact, if you purchase a digital camera or a scanner, you will 
probably find that some kind of image-editing program comes with it 
at no extra charge.

You may also be able to find some free image-editing programs on the 
net, but they may cost you more effort than is reasonable.
