Norman,
I really don't want to change the OS system highlight color. I just
want my RB app to use the OS system highlight color. If I double-
click a word in an editfield, I get what I expect - the OS system
highlight color. But, if I select the same word with code, I get
something different - the space around the word is outlined but the
area inside this highlight area is white.

The highlight color is something the user has set in the preferences
You can probably adjust it with a declare, but I'd suggest you
don't since it's used everywhere and is in the users control
