I actually have at least one collegue who has an Intel Mac running
MacOs X; the main problem is that the machine would have to be set up
for Gforth development (another problem is that this machine is his
laptop, so it's offline much of the time). I would prefer to get ssh
access to a machine that's already set up.

The stack bases are dead at that point (they will be overwritten as
soon as Gforth starts), so that's not the issue. The difference in
image size probably has a harmless explanation (like differences in
GFORTHPATH). The values I had suspected were the ips, and these are
the same, so that's not the problem.
