For those tracking the current CVS head, I have finally gotten around
to doing the portability enhancements of the libcc.fs foreign function
interface. You do need GNU libtool in addition to gcc (both at
run-time) for it to work, but once you have that, it should work on
many different platforms; I tried it successfully on Debian Linux and
MacOS X (thanks to Dennis Ruffer and Leslie Snively for access to that
machine).
Thanks for doing the hard work Anton. It looks good from my
perspective (on a PPC).
It's not yet finished, though: it's not good for multi-processing and
especially multi-user usage yet.
Is there anything I can do to test this?
As an aside, is it possible to update the date in the version number
once in a while? It's still sitting at 0.6.9-20070604 which makes it
pretty hard to track what has been installed on any system. I'm not
sure what your current policy is, but a more frequent change would be
useful, from a user's perspective.
