Initialized yes ... but you can as well simply use LibGII only if you want
to get events without disturbing output.
It's pretty much a matter of opening the stuff LibGGI would open for you
yourself.

That's not a too bad idea, as for X you have to anyway, as you need a window
that will catch events to be used by your player (which you do want, if I
get you right). Of course you could as well just open the input-stdin
method, but that will only work when stuff is started from an xterm, not
if it is launched by the WM.

Yeah - that's one of the reasons why it's folded into LibGGI.
