there are items to be best done by a single person (the designer/architect)
and there are others which can and should be done by 'the community'.
What is much more important is transparency. Keep a log of your work, have
some task manager/schedule visible for everyone to inspect. That way you can
show what things are being worked on. Even if you do it yourself, write it.
It's a proof of the project's well being that there are actually things in
the work.
May be this could even be combined with a 'project manager' (wishlist etc.)
where people can post suggestions. This should all be recorded and published
with a html interface.
