S3 Virge are AFAIK not supported by fbdev.

If I am correctly, the S3 Virge card is supported by kgicon.


Change to the directory

degas/kgicon/kgi/

and do a "make config" and choose your hardware-settings.

That should compile kgicon very well.

After compiling there should be a kgicon.o
If it is so, then try "insmod kgicon"

If some problems arises, then post them here.
