I don't think you read the entire message.
I have 2.2.13, the problem is that my video BIOS is VESA 1.2, which unless
things have changed, is not supported by Linux framebuffers. The patch was
intended to patch the kernel so that it WOULD support the VESA 1.2 BIOS.
