Yes. Where the resource are stored may not necessary be video mem. It
can be physical mem, virtual mem, disk "mem" network "mem" either.

Brian: I think, the docs must be updated.

That what the docs currently says, is the usual case. But there are
some targets (i.e. X), which requires to set the mode first and then
request resources.

Using libbse is the most clean way. You can ask libbse to allocate
sprites for you. libbse handles the whole stuff through
libovl/libblt/libgalloc for you.

BTW: If you are going to use libblt, please note, that a complete API
change is already planned in order to make it more flexible.

We are searching for a program, which can autogenerate the ChangeLogs
from the CVS logs. We know, that such a program exists (from Marcus),
but we don't know its name... :-(
