A long time ago, I had an IRC chat with someone working on GGI.
Here's what I remember of the conversation. Do his half remembered
responses still sound right?

D=Dave=Yours Truly
G=Guy

D: I'm working on this X windows arcade game. It gets its input
   through normal X events. For some reason, when the OpenGL drawing
   part has a lot of work to do, the X events seem to get delivered
   really late, like .3 seconds after one wiggles the mouse. Do you
   know how this could be fixed?

G: Use GII and have it fetch events from _____________.

D: Really?

G: Yes, only you'll need Linux kernel 2.4 + for the _____________.

D: As of this date, not many have kernel 2.4 yet. Maybe I'll wait on
   this.

Well, now many people have kernel 2.4, and I'm thinking of giving the
above plan a shot.

So, does the plan look right?

Anyone know what the the ____________ is? input-linux-mouse?

Any kernel parameters that have to be compiled in?

Any ideas for which demo programs to look at first? Mhub seems to
work with input-linux-mouse:ps2,/dev/mice.

Can I call something like select on a GII input and a regular unix
file descriptor?

Any other comments?

Muchos Gracias,
Dave
