Dear All,

Im testing ghdl on a quite big design (some Mo of code for description,
testbenches, tcl scripts and testbench file scenari)

My major problem is related with purity. Many file operations leads to
breaking purity of functions and ghdl complains about that.

What I will say is very stupid, but the problem is that the design
compiles under modelsim, and not under ghdl...
I am OK to write code that respects the standard, but some of the broken
fuctions are written by altera itself. I would prefer not to modify part
manufacturer's code. This is both long and subtle.

If I summarise my questions:
Is there any option to relax ghdl regarding file usage?
Is there any coding style that permits to preserve purity of
functions/procedures, while using files?

Thanks for your attention

Lionel
