I understand, but ghdl could do some trick. For example, for a signal named
SIGNAL, it being of type record with fields F1,F2,..  it could make appear in
the vcd the signals:

SIGNAL_F1
SIGNAL_F2
..

and so on, even if there are records of records (with more underscores).

Maybe there is even some nice character that cannot end up in name collision
with a possible signal name in vhdl.

In any case, I think this would be much better than the current behaviour: throw
away the records.

GHW files are also a pain in RAM usage by gtkwave. It takes ~2GiB of RAM for the
waves I look at.
