I'm afraid it was a kind of blindly hacking away action to make it build, and I don't really recall the details, might have had to do with the mingw32 cross compilation, too. This all needs a massive cleanup (this being part of the 95%...). It was very likely in some configure script or Makefile. But I'm sure I didn't touch any of the internals this time, your final patch obviously has covered it all (I'm working with this ghdl version daily). I'll hopefully find some time to deal with this in two weeks and start documenting.
