Hello Thomas,

Thank you for your interest on GIMIAS. I started using Visual Studio
2010 under Windows 7 64 bits to compile GIMIAS some months ago and we had
similar compilation errors at the beginning. The information provided by the
compilation error is not very useful, but after looking at several forums on
Internet, we could fix the error installing VS2010 service pack 1. Could you
please try to install the VS2010 service pack 1?
        http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=23691

I also recommend you to use the last stable version 1.4.2. The
version 1.5 is still in progress and we cannot guarantee the stability of
it. Here you can find the compilation instructions for 1.4.2:

as_1_4_2_InWindows_Step_1

Regarding the crash with the installers from the webpage, could you
please provide me more details and some snapshots?. We haven't detected any
installation error until now and we would like to fix it as soon as
possible.

Best regards,
Xavi

Subject: [Gimias-developers] Visiul Studio 2010 Build for 1.4 tags and 1.5
trunk error on plugins

Hello all,

I am currently evaluating several medical frameworks for cardiovascular
applications. Till now i failed compiling Gimias under Windows 7 64bit,
with Visual Studio 2010; Even all installers from the webpage crash (this on
a sidenote, as we actually want to develop plugins). Compiling fails for the
plugins, with a strange error code of cl.exe: -1073740777, which gives
0xC0000417. For the NTStatus values, this code stands for passing an invalid
parameter to the c runtime. At this point i am currently at a loss.

Does anyone else have experience with the 2010 compilers? I know that Gimias
development apparently happens with the older Visual Studio 2008, but our
project requirement is use of the current Visual Studio 2010 and sadly we
cant downgrade.

So, does anyone have already some experience with these compilers, or is
tehre a chance that Gimias itself will migrate to 2010 in the (near) future?

Regards,
Thomas Wolf
