I agree with this idea now. The problem I had with it before is
that it would do bad things to people whose EXIF images had incorrect
rotation information, and that would have included everybody who had
used GIMP to edit a rotated image and then saved the result as a JPEG.
But GIMP has been handling this correctly for a oouple of years now, so
the number of cases where people get annoyed should be reasonably small,
or at least if they do, it will mostly be blameable on other misbehaving
programs.
