Gimp is a RGB only editor, the psd file needs converting from CMYK (a printers format) to RGB (a computer display format). Apart from using PS, two ways. A utility CYAN https://github.com/rodlie/cyan/releases/tag/1.2.0 and https://github.com/rodlie/cyan/tree/1.2 Can be used stand-alone or as a Gimp plugin a demo https://youtu.be/1A0Aaoy1mhQ The freeware Krita www.krita.org which works in both colour spaces and can convert between each. Export as a RGB psd file. Probably Krita is going to be the best options for a psd with presumably many layers. The problem with PS psd, is it is a proprietary format and Gimp only supports limited aspects. Text in particular is rendered to a bitmap and is not editable as text. PS layer effects which vary between PS versions might/might not work or work in a limited manner. These PS type templates can be used but be prepared for the possibility of a lot of work. -- rich404 (via www.gimpusers.com/forums) _______________________________________________ gimp-user-list mailing list List address: gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list
