Hi there,

...as a workaround one can disable native language support when compiling
the gimp; just run configure with the "--disable-nls" switch. At least this
worked for me. You will then have "only" an english speaking gimp, because
the switch disables native language support. Howevere, one can use all of
its functions. And hey, after all this is still a developer version..
