I just installed Python2.6 and PyQt4.6 on XP and it worked fine. I was originally running PyQt4.5 on Python2.5 but I don't think that it shares any of the packages (e.g. I don't think Python2.6 can use the PyQt4.5 package from Python2.5). Perhaps it is a Windows 7 issue. I will see if I can get my hands on a copy.
