the iptables should be working with the new version.

however, you did not need to use it in this assignment.

i realize that there is a confusion with the tutorial.

*** PLEASE NOTE: you don't need to run the iptables to run the hping2
command

hping2 is a packet injection command..

iptables is a packet filtering mechanism at each machine. in this
assignment, for

packet filtering, you use the "filter" command provided by the router.

i hope this is clear.

Will the following bug be fixed by this new release?

Also, the assignment directs us to /root/net_tools/... i.e. it skips the
"gini_book" directory. Is this just a typo, or is the bash script
fw_setup_1.sh the wrong script??

-bash-3.2# bash /root/gini_book/net_tools/hping/fw_setup_1.sh

Hi all,

I will be putting a new version of GINI to fix a bug in the
router and also provide the missing "filter" command in the
current version.

It will be up on the website in few hours.
Thanks.
