Thanks for the suggestion.  I tend to rely more on documentation than
on experimentation, so my first thought was to find out what the
"documented" behavior was.  In the future, I'll also try the
experimental route.

Sure, I just wanted to be sure which git cli commands would be run in
this case.  I had run across one example where a git gui operation
performs the equivalent of a series of git and bash commands:


So, I thought it would be prudent to confirm what git gui was actually
doing when I select "Branch->Create":"Checkout After Creation"
