I think the closest you can get to an official release is the one linked to on http://git-scm.com/
Which at the moment is... Git-1.7.4-preview20110204.exe<http://code.google.com/p/msysgit/downloads/detail?name=Git-1.7.4-preview20110204.exe&can=3&q=> - Full installer for official Git 1.7.4 This is as stable as Git for Windows gets at the moment, I suppose, and it is pretty solid, in my experience.
