Hi Konstantin,

Thanks a lot for your help with this. This (above) was the key right
here. At some point, I had put the dir that I had installed R at the
front of my $PATH variable instead of at the end, so it attempting to
use the R pager instead of /usr/bin/less. I changed this and now I no
longer need sudo to access this git function.
