Hello, Square one newbie here. Always thought I had a good version control system until I tried git. I'm a little confused about where to install git and how that works with either Github or Bitbucket. I'm a single developer. I have a desktop machine and a laptop. I've got both Github and Bitbucket accounts. I want to be able to pickup my laptop and leave the office knowing that I have access to my latest work.
I have Git installed on my desktop computer but not my laptop. But when I log into either Github or Bitbucket I can see my work and check it out. I'm not sure why I need to install Git if I'm using an online repo service? Thanks.
