Hi I'm interested to work for some Git project in the upcoming GSoC. I've also solved one of the microprojects which is a pre-requirement given here http://git.github.io/SoC-2014-Microprojects.html. I am a Computer Science second year B.Tech student and know the basics of Git. But to make my project proposal, i need some detailed information about the ideas proposed here http://git.github.io/SoC-2014-Ideas.html. How do i get acquainted to these details. I tried having a look at the source codes on https://github.com/git/git but it seems it is a very large chunk of code and i do not really know how to start. Please guide me what to do. I'm really enthusiastic about Git and am not looking at any other organization apart from Git for GSoC. Thanks in advance! -- The main git developer list is listed in the README for the Git code. Many of the prospective students have submitted their solutions as patches (see SubmittingPatches) to the list. You can read some of the back discussions on http://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.version-control.git (there are other servers that also capture the list, such as Nabble, etc) One of the mentors blogged http://softwareswirl.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/my-secret-tip-for-gsoc-success.html Remember Git is a piece of critical infrastructure, so code will be reviewed 'carefully', with feedback. -- Philip -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Git for human beings" group.
