Please define "it's not working" in more precise terms.

I mean, what exact action you carry out with Git and how exactly it
does not work.  Like in "in should have done this and that but instead
it printed such and such error message"; please copy and paste the
error message here.

And as this came up a number of times on my radar, isn't your problem a
manifestation of this [1] bug in the latest Mac OS X package?
