Since ctags is "hooked" and uses MIO already, one more possibility would be to 
replace the single-file version of MIO with the full upstream implementation if 
the ctags guys agree with that. The question is how they want to handle MIO 
because right now it's really being treated as part of the project and some of 
the changes in

don't make sense for the upstream.
